Minister Farrakhan's subject is titled, “The Crucifixion of Michael Jackson and All Responsible Black Leadership.” The media and the public are invited to attend. Doors will open at 9 a.m.

FinalCall.com (FC) - Let’s start with the song from your latest CD targeting Fox News called “Sly Fox.” What prompted you to make that song?

NAS: I kept hearing terrible things about FOX News. I never trust media outlets, so FOX News—when I heard bad things about them—I expected it to be real. But they didn’t really get on my radar until last year when I was supposed to do a concert for Virginia Tech University. Bill O’Reilly had three shows on me—he’s trying to do what he did to Ludacris and take away Ludacris’ Pepsi deal. So he had three shows on it. And, I said, “All right. I’m going to get him back,” you know? “I’ve got something to say too. I’ve got listeners the same way you got listeners”—except my listeners are more of a threat in today’s world. His listeners represent the Old Word, the old Republican, the old way of thinking about America. That is played out. And he doesn’t even know that most Whites don’t even think the way he thinks. But he has his ratings, right?

FC: Right.

NAS: So, I just said this is my way at getting back at him, [by] doing a song. It just so happens that the same time my album dropped, FOX News tries to be playful with “Obama’s Baby Mama” and all this. If I didn’t know who FOX was before, I really know who they are now and hopefully, some of my listeners can feel me.

FC: You have a voice, you have fans, you have people who listen to you and they’re influenced by what you say and you are using that to bring light to issues that you feel are important. That’s good, but some of rappers say, “Well, my music doesn’t have a message. I don’t necessarily have a social commentary. I’m not trying to tell anybody to do anything, you do what you want to do,” Why do you think it is important to use your voice in that way?

NAS: Hmm. Well, the ones that say they don’t have a message and all that, they’re gangsters, man. Let them be gangsters. Let them do them. I support them. Not everybody wants to have that responsibility. Not everyone is thinking like that. A lot of people’s lives are simple, you know what I’m saying? I tend to see things and I’ve always questioned things since I was young. I question things. And when I see things that are unjust, I react. I may be a little bit more extreme than a few of the other artists, that’s just me, it’s who I am. So all my music has something about me. I’m not a “specialist on race matters.” I just have an opinion, I just have an experience to talk about. So, if one album is about one thing, then that’s what I’m thinking about that year, and that’s what I’m thinking about musically. It may not be the best chart-topping album, but, as long as I can sleep at night knowing that’s what I really wanted to represent, cool. Then I’m good.

I’ve been sprinkling little pieces of my opinions on all my albums, but this one was just more dedicated to it. God has been good to me just allowing me to be here. I know a lot of people that couldn’t make it here. So today what I want to talk about is how I see things. I’m not coming down on a lot of people this year. That was “Hip Hop Is Dead.”

LOS ANGELES (FinalCall.com) - New evidence has surfaced linking the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency to the introduction of crack cocaine into Black neighborhoods with drug profits used to fund the CIA-backed Nicaraguan Contra army in the early 1980s.

This evidence has given credence to long-held suspicions of the U.S. government's role in undermining Black communities.

According to a series of groundbreaking reports by the San Jose Mercury News, for the better part of a decade, a San Francisco Bay Area drug ring, comprised of CIA and U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency agents and informants, sold tons of cocaine to the Crips and Bloods street gangs of Los Angeles.

Millions of dollars in drug profits were then funneled to the Fuerza Democratica Nicaraguense (Nicaraguan Democratic Force), the largest of several anti-Communists commonly called the Contras. The 5,000-man FDN was created in mid-1981 and run by both American and Nicaraguan CIA agents in its losing war against Nicaragua's Sandinista government, the Cuban-supported socialists who had overthrown U.S.-backed dictator Anastasio Somoza in 1979.

This CIA-backed drug network opened the first pipeline between Columbia's cocaine cartels and the Black neighborhoods of Compton and Los Angeles, according to the Mercury News.

In time, the cocaine that flooded Los Angeles helped spark a "crack explosion" in urban America and provided the cash and connections needed for Los Angeles's gangs to buy Uzi sub-machine guns, AK-47 rifles, and other assault weapons that would fuel deadly gang turf wars, drive-by
shootings, murders and robberies -- courtesy of the U.S. government, according to the article.

"While the FDN's war is barely a memory today, Black America is still dealing with its poisonous side effects. Urban neighborhoods are grappling with legions of homeless crack addicts. Thousands of young Black men are serving long prison sentences for selling cocaine -- a drug that was virtually unobtainable in Black neighborhoods before members of the CIA's army started bring it into South Central in the 1980s at bargain basement prices," wrote Mercury News reporter Gary Webb, in the first installment of the shocking series of reports.

Although the Mercury News details the activities of numerous Nicaraguan and American informants and ties involved in the drug-gun trade, three men are cited as key players: Norwin Meneses, a Nicaraguan smuggler and FDN boss; Danilo Blandon, a cocaine supplier, top FDN civilian leader in California, and DEA informant; and Ricky Donnell Ross, a South Central Los Angeles high school dropout and drug trafficker of mythic proportions, who was Mr. Blandon's
biggest customer.

According to the Mercury News article, for the better part of a decade, "Freeway Rick," as he was nicknamed, was unaware of his supplier's military and political connections.

But together, the trio was directly and indirectly responsible for introducing and selling crack cocaine as far away as Cleveland, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Dayton and St. Louis.

Ricky Ross' street connections, ability to obtain cocaine at low prices and deals that allowed him to receive drugs from Contra-CIA operatives with no money upfront helped him to undercut other dealers and quickly spread crack. He also sold crack wholesale to gangs across the country, said the Mercury News report.

Most of the information surrounding the CIA's involvement in the crack trade came from testimony in the March drug trafficking trial of Mr. Ross, 36, who, along with two other men were convicted of cocaine conspiracy charges in San Diego.

A federal judge indefinitely postponed Mr. Ross's Aug. 23 sentencing to grant his lawyer time to try to show that federal authorities misused DEA agent Mr. Blandon to entrap Mr. Ross in a "reverse" sting last year. Mr. Ross could receive life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Records show that Mr. Ross was still behind bars in Cincinnati in 1994, awaiting parole, when San Diego DEA agents targeted him for the reverse sting-- one in which government agents provide the drugs and the target provides the cash.

Though Mr. Blandon has admitted to crimes that have sent others away for life, the U.S. Justice Department turned him loose on unsupervised probation in 1994 after only 28 months behind bars and has paid him more than $166,000 since, court records show.

Mr. Blandon's boss in the FDN's cocaine operation, Norwin Meneses, has never spent a day in a U.S. prison, even though the federal government has been aware of his cocaine dealings since at least 1974, according to the Mercury News article.

For years, writers, authors, activists, gang members and others have implicated the U.S. government in the deadly crack cocaine-gun trade.

Many have charged the U.S. government with supplying gang members with these tools in an effort to undermine and eradicate the Black community through wanton murder, drug addiction and crime.

Some believe crack did not become an "American problem" until the drug began hitting white neighborhoods and affecting white children.

On Aug. 23, the Los Angeles City Council, responding to pressure by the Los Angeles Chapter of the Black American Political Association of California (BAPAC), asked U.S. Atty. Janet Reno to investigate the government's involvement in the alleged sale of illegal street drugs in Los Angeles' Black community to support the CIA-backed Contras.

BAPAC vice chairman Glen Brown told The Final Call that a federal agency monitored by a civilian advisory board is one way the government could investigate the matter because "we can't have people who are responsible for this investigate themselves."

BAPAC, a statewide coalition of political activists, has also demanded that the U.S. government provide the necessary funding, materials and labor to rebuild urban areas destroyed by crack cocaine, as well as the necessary medical care, education, counseling, and vocational training to
restore shattered lives.

Long-term Los Angeles activists Chilton Alphonse, founder of the Community Youth Sports & Arts Foundation, which aids former gang members, said he briefly assisted Ricky Ross when the drug dealer was paroled from prison inn October 1994, after serving about half of a 10-year prison sentence in Cincinnati in exchange for his testimony against corrupt Los Angeles police detectives.

"He came back to Los Angeles and tried to get his life together," Mr. Alphonse said. "Rick was a legend in the streets. But he flipped (testified against law enforcement officers). He said they used him to skim money from him."

Mr. Alphonse was referring to Mr. Ross's 1991 testimony against Los Angeles Police Department narcotics detectives who had been fired or indicted along with dozens of deputies from the Los Angeles County sheriff's elite narcotics squads for allegedly beating suspects, stealing drug money and planting evidence.

Mr. Alphonse, who now resides in Alabama, said he has warned for years that the flood of crack cocaine and assault weapons into the Black community was not the doing of the Bloods and Crips.

"Inner city youth don't have the resources to manufacture cocaine or ship in guns," Mr. Alphonse said.

Others agree.

In December 1989, while head of the NAACP Los Angeles Chapter, Anthony A. Samad (then Anthony Essex) announced his findings that some Bloods and Crips members had implicated the U.S. government in the ruthless crack and assault weapons trade among Los Angeles street gangs. Mr. Samad said that he learned this after extensive interviews with gang members housed in Los Angeles County Jail. But he was largely ignored by Black elected officials, he said who sided with law enforcement.

"Gang members charged then that gang rivalry and drug wars were being perpetuated by the police and the government," said Mr. Samad, who is now president of Samad & Associates, a consulting firm.

Henry Stuckey, of Stop the Violence/Increase the Peace, said that government involvement in community drug trafficking was common knowledge in some circles.

"Obviously African American males didn't have planes and boats to move the guns and narcotics into the Black community." Mr. Stuckey said.

Mr. Stuckey said that Black and Latino youths must be appraised of the government's involvement in order to understand that their communities will continue to be the dumping grounds for guns and drugs unless the youths "do for self."

"I do think that the blame that was laid on the gangs was wrong," Mr. Stuckey said. "But I can't say that it vindicates them for their actions because they had a choice in the matter. (Still) it's horrible that the government targeted our youth."

Roland Freeman, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Chapter of the International Campaign to Free Geronimo Pratt, is a former member of the Black Panther Party. The BPP was targeted and ultimately nullified by FBI counterintelligence programs.

Mr. Freeman said he knows firsthand of the deceit of which the government is capable; a government, he said, that tries to "set itself up as if it's higher than God when really it's lower than the devil."

"(They put) small pox in the Indian's blankets and gave them fire water," Mr. Freeman said. "They make drugs available to Blacks and other minorities. It only surprises me that (the CIA) got caught."

Last spring, I engaged in an e-mail exchange with former New York Mayor Ed Koch, the man who originally labeled Louis Farrakhan a "Black Hitler," back in 1984. Koch wrote a series of columns in the New York Post earlier this year criticizing me and journalist Robert Novak for inviting Min. Farrakhan to our annual supply-side conference in Florida. I invited Koch to exchange views, which we did, and in response to one offer, he challenged me to explain why Farrakhan had called the Pope an "anti-Christ" and called Judaism a "gutter religion." I passed the request on to Min. Farrakhan and he answered in this letter. Christmas week is a good time to publish it.

June 18, 1997 As-Salaam Alaikum. (Peace Be Unto You)

Dear Jude... May this letter find you and your family in the best of health and spirit.

I am happy to respond to Mayor Koch’s assertions that I have made derogatory remarks about Judaism and Christianity. There is no possibility that I would say what he and others have accused me of saying about these religions, which after all, the Revealed World of Allah (God) found in the Torah and the Gospel provides the foundation for my own Islamic Faith, the teachings of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, and the Nation of Islam.

Regarding Mayor Koch’s assertion that I made reference to the Pope as being "the anti-Christ" on the Phil Donahue Show, my secretary searched each of the four Donahue shows on which I appeared over the past dozen years. She could find no reference to my charging the Pope as being the "Anti-Christ". I am sending a copy of all the tapes for your own review.

Indeed, when I was young, the Honorable Elijah Muhammad instructed me, that as a Minister in the nation of Islam, I was certainly not on the level of the Pope and that I should be very careful how I directed any criticism at the Pope. I have instructed all of my Ministers in the same manner. This is why I was most disturbed at the words concerning the Pope made by Khalid Muhammad, when he was under my leadership.

In my mind, I believe you agree in your mind as well, those who teach and inspire others to act against Christ’s Teaching must be considered anti-Christ. In the past, there have been Popes, other high officials of the Church, priests, lay persons, Muslims and non-Muslims who have accommodated themselves to views and actions which most of us would now consider antithetical to His Teaching. I believe, to be of a mind and spirit to oppose Christ as a conscious act is an act of Satan himself.

Most Christians who violate Christ’s Teaching do so out of weakness or temptation, not out of a conscious desire to uproot and/or destroy the Message of Jesus Christ.

Regarding Mayor Koch’s challenge of my statement of March 11, 1984, about Judaism being a "dirty" religion or "gutter" religion. I have since then, at least a hundred times, explained that I made the "dirty religion" comment in a political context, after I was charged by some Jewish political and religious leaders with being the new "Black Hitler," in anger, I responded: "Here come the Jews calling me Hitler. The only way you can compare me to Hitler is that Hitler rose his people up from the ashes of defeat in World War I and I am trying to raise my people up from the ashes of slavery."

Then I said, "Do not compare me with your wicked killers", by which I meant murderers in the white race. I have never murdered anyone, advocated murder, or urged any form of physical violence. All human life is sacred to me. I believe all human beings can be redeemed except those who have violated the law of Allah (God) in such a way that it demands the forfeiture of their lives.

Regarding the state of Israel, I said in 1984, "Israel has not had any peace in 40 years and she will never have any peace for there can be no peace structured on lying, murder, and injustice, using the name of Allah (God) as a shield for your dirty religion."

Countless times over the years I have explained that I never referred to Judaism as a dirty religion, but, clearly referred to the machinations of those who hide behind the shield of Judaism while using unjust political means to achieve their objectives. This was distilled in the New York tabloids and other media saying, "Farrakhan calls Judaism a gutter religion."

As a Muslim, I revere Abraham, Moses, and all the Prophets who Allah (God) sent to the children of Israel. I believe in the scriptures brought by these Prophets and the Laws of Allah (God) as expressed in the Torah. I would never refer to the Revealed Word of Allah (God) -- the basis of Jewish Faith -- as "dirty" or "gutter." You know, Jude, as well as I, that the Revealed Word of Allah (God) comes as a Message from Allah (God) to purify us from our evil that has divided us and caused us to fall into the gutter.

Over the centuries, the evils of Christians, Jews and Muslims have dirtied their respective religions. True Faith in the laws and Teaching of Abraham, Jesus and Muhammad is not dirty, but, practices in the name of these religions can be unclean and can cause people to look upon the misrepresented religion as being unclean.

In the same way, I have throughout my life referred to Hitler as a wicked man, yet, the national news media insists that I called him a "great man," with the implied inference that "great" means "good." However, I did refer to him as "wickedly great." in the same sense that Ghengis Khan stands out in history. For political purposes in 1984, as Jesse Jackson sought the Democratic presidential nomination, his opponents chose to characterize my words in the headlines, "Jackson’s pal hails Hitler."

No matter what I have said to explain my meaning in the last 13 years, whenever my name is mentioned or I am written of, the words are repeated, "Louis Farrakhan -- the man who called Hitler great and Judaism a gutter religion."

I have given the above explanations over and over again and do so here again in hopes that your dialog with Mayor Koch can at last bring this issue to a close, at least among those willing and able to be objective. I believe in the commandment of Allah (God) revealed by Moses, "Thou Shalt Not Bear False Witness Against Thy Neighbor."

May Allah (God) bless you with the great strength and courage needed to pursue the path of Truth. I am confident that all who stand on the basis of Truth and act with Justice in the end will be vindicated from false charges.

He answered back that the Anti-Defamation League acknowledged making a mistake regarding the "anti-Christ" quote and that it would no longer attribute it to him. Otherwise, Koch said it was time to end the dialog. He saw no point in continuing it."

LOGAN, West Virginia (FinalCall.com) - The physical scars, though healing, are still visible, but the psychological and emotional scars also remain for the victim of a race torture in the mountains of West Virginia. Police say 20-year-old Megan Williams of Charleston, West Virginia was held captive in a chamber of horrors while six Caucasian perpetrators physically assaulted, raped and tortured her for five days. Deputy Robinette’s testimony under oath was consistent with Megan’s statement that had been given to police investigators about her five days of horror. At the preliminary hearing Logan County Deputy Jeffrey Robinette read the chilling account of the confessions of two of the male defendants detailing the heinous, barbaric and brutal hate crime carried out against their victim.

John F. Kennedy, Jr. and Minister Farrakhan go One on One

ON POLITICS

MINISTER FARRAKHAN (MLF): Mr. Kennedy, first let me just say that there is no question that would be considered inappropriate. As one who was alive during the time of your father’s work and one who watched him and studied him as best I could, I am very pleased to be interviewed by you and pleased to know that you, the son of such an illustrious mother and father, are here in the home of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad. I want you to feel as though you are at home and welcome here.

John F. Kennedy Jr. (JFK): Thank you very much. Minister, from the perspective of me and the magazine, what is interesting particularly is your development from a religious leader to one who is an active participant in politics. I want to start by exploring how that development occurred. I guess the 1984 election in which you got involved with Reverend (Jesse) Jackson’s campaign was somewhat of a watershed event for you and for the Nation of Islam and you got in politics, and I gather, broke with a long-standing tradition started by the Honorable Elijah Muhammad to keep politics and religion separate. Why did you make that decision, and what was the preamble to that decision being made by you?

ON BLACK EMPOWERMENT

JFK: What is the principle threat for Black America? Is it an internal condition or is it an external condition?

MLF: It is both.

JFK: But what is more? Black conservatives … a Clarence Thomas speaks less about white racism and more about the need for Black self-realization. You and the Hon. Elijah Muhammad, to what I understand, speak, it seems, in equal parts. But there seems maybe a certain contradiction in that.

Sudan and America's racist foreign policy

WASHINGTON (FinalCall.com) - Hostility toward the government of the Sudan by the U.S. and other Western nations only serves to extend the armed conflict and prolong the humanitarian suffering in Darfur, Sudan’s Foreign Minister told reporters at the National Press Club here, in a satellite video conference from Khartoum June 6.

“The biggest harm from the sanctions, is to the political process itself, because it is a political process that will end all the suffering, all the problems that are being experienced in Darfur now,” said Dr. Lam Akol, Minister of Foreign Affairs, in response to a reporter’s question.

“The insecurity, the question of excesses that are being committed in Darfur, there is no doubt in a war situation the rule of law suffers; human rights are affected. And therefore, the only way to stop all this is to bring the war to an end. The first casualty of these sanctions, coming at the time they did, was the peace process,” said Dr. Akol.

(FinalCall.com) - In response to Al Jazeera Correspondent Fadi Mansour’s question about still being accused of being an “anti-Semite,” Min. Farrakhan looked at him, laughed and asked “Are you a Semite?” Mr. Mansour replied, “Yes. I’m Arab.”

Min. Farrakhan then asked him, “Am I against you? Am I against Muslims? No. Are the Jews that came out of Europe, are they Semitic? Who are the Sephardim? Are they Semitic? Am I against them? Who has segregated them and the Ethiopian Jews? Is it not the European?

WASHINGTON (FinalCall.com) -- The prospects are bleak. Genocide is no exaggeration. Incarceration, AIDS, unemployment and the school drop-out rate are all problems challenging Black people in America—Black males in particular—and according to this year's annual report released April 17 by the National Urban League (NUL) entitled "The State of Black America: Portrait of the Black Male," these problems represent the most serious social crisis occurring in the United States today.

"A quarter of all Black Americans live below the federal poverty level, a poverty rate about twice the national rate," Illinois Senator Barack Obama (D) writes in the report's foreword. "In some cities, more than half of all Black boys do not finish high school, and by the time they are in their 30s, almost six in ten Black high school dropouts will have spent time in prison."

The bad statistics concerning Black men go on and on. Half of all Black men in their 20s are unemployed, and more young Black men are in prison than in college.

"Empowering Black men to reach their full potential is the most serious economic and civil rights challenge we face today," NUL President Marc H. Morial told reporters at the National Press Club. "Ensuring their future is critical, not just for the African American community, but for the prosperity, health, and well-being of the entire American family."

Black males are more than twice as likely to be unemployed as White males, and nearly seven times more likely to be incarcerated, with their average jail sentences 10 months longer than those of White men. In addition, Black males between the ages of 15 and 34 are nine times more likely than Whites to be killed by firearms, and nearly eight times as likely to have AIDS.

Sean Bell: Tip of iceberg in New York police murder culture

NEW YORK (FinalCall.com) - The murder of Sean Bell on November 25, 2006 is not an abberation, according to community and social activists. In fact, they say when the dots are connected in a socio/political context, it is easy to understand why only people of color are shot down in New York City streets like dogs.

Carl Dix, national spokesman for the Revolutionary Communist Party and co-founder of the October 22nd Coalition to Stop Police Brutality, Repression and the Criminalization of a Generation explained to The Final Call that he believes that the killing of Sean Bell and the wounding of Mr. Bell’s friends stems from the “very nature of this capitalist system and its culture of White supremacy.”

“People must see the killing of un-armed Blacks as a nationwide epidemic—not just something that happens in New York City. The 92-year-old grandmother Catherine Johnson wasn’t killed by police in New York City; she lived in Atlanta, Ga.,” Mr. Dix stressed.

Taking Mr. Dix’s argument one step further, there was a timely analysis put forth on the World Socialist Web Site back in June 2003: “The essential task of the city’s police is that of defending a social order characterized by a gap between the world’s greatest concentration of millionaires, and the other, a population in which nearly a third lives below the poverty line and 44 percent have no financial assets whatsoever.”

When Mr. Mansour asked why the Nation of Islam is made up primarily of Blacks, when Islam is open to all races, Min. Farrakhan responded, “If you look at the Prophet [Muhammad], peace be upon him, why were the majority of his followers in the beginning Arabs? It was because he came to the Arabs, first, and then to the world.

“The Black man and woman in America are in the worst condition. Have you seen a people robbed of their names, their language, their culture, their religion, their own minds turned against themselves; savages, made into tribes in a jahiliyyah [ignorance of divine guidance] like the early Arabs? So, our duty was first to our own people, as the Prophet’s was, and then the light shines from the East around the world, and it shines now from the West around the world. So, we are now inclusive of all members of the human family, but it started with the Black man and woman of America who are in the worst condition of human beings.”

In response to Mr. Mansour’s question about still being accused of being an “anti-Semite,” Min. Farrakhan looked at him, laughed and asked “Are you a Semite?” Mr. Mansour replied, “Yes. I’m Arab.”

Min. Farrakhan then asked him, “Am I against you? Am I against Muslims? No. Are the Jews that came out of Europe, are they Semitic? Who are the Sephardim? Are they Semitic? Am I against them? Who has segregated them and the Ethiopian Jews? Is it not the European?

“The real anti-Semites are those who came out of Europe and settled in Palestine, and now they call themselves the ‘true Jew,’ when in reality, they were converted to Judaism,” adding that the “real Semitic Jews have been in that area of the world for thousands of years—they belong to Palestine.”

When asked about the global conflicts and America’s involvement in the affairs of sovereign nations, specifically Iran and North Korea, Min. Farrakhan pointed out that for America, even as a superpower, challenging nations now is not as easy as it once was.

“There are 192 nations on this earth. America has troops in 135 of the 192 nations. What are American troops doing all over the world like this? America has surrounded Iran and Russia with bases and troops and nuclear weapons. Russia feels threatened; Iran feels threatened. Iran should not be denied the human right to knowledge. Atomic knowledge should be in the arsenal of knowledge of every nation, and if Iran wants to use Atomic knowledge for peaceful purposes, she is in accord with international law,” Min. Farrakhan said.

“Every nation of the earth wants friendship with America, but America can’t have it if she is going to be the world’s number one bully. She can’t frighten Iran anymore. She can’t frighten North Korea anymore, because if you throw at Iran, Iran can throw back; if you throw at North Korea, North Korea can throw back. North Korea and Iran and Syria [are not] Grenada and Panama,” he explained.

Mr. Mansour then asked about the American presidential elections in general and specifically, and if America was ready for a Black president.

Min. Farrakhan said, “Who is talking about the international bankers that fund both sides of a war? Who is talking about the international bankers that set up the World Trade Organization? Who is talking about the international bankers that destroy the sovereignty of nations? Who is talking about the international bankers who are promoting this idea, that we should give up our natural resources and begin to privatize? And who are the private persons who are buying up the wealth of the world? It doesn’t make any difference who is the President, if you cannot stop the madness that is going on.

“America is ready for a Black president if that Black president looks like they can save the ship that is sinking. America is in trouble and if a Black man can help to save America, the American people might vote for such a person.”

“There is a hidden hand behind [President] Bush. There is a hidden hand behind Blair. There is a hidden hand behind [Congressman John] Murtha [D-Pa.]. There is a hidden hand behind many presidents, and as long as they need money and the international bankers can provide it, that hidden hand will control the politics of the world.”

Is it a street gang of gun-runners, dope dealers, thieves and miscreants, or is it a youth group teaching Black pride to inner city youth? Is it an unofficial offshoot of the Nation of Islam, or a special forces Black Op? Is it a social group created to unify and spread the teachings of Islam to all those in need of knowledge, or simply a trendy cultural anachronism responsible for certain aspects of hip hop terminology?

Much is said regarding the Five Percenters—a youth movement founded in Harlem in the mid-1960s. However, most of what is heard is uniformed opinion, speculation and rumor.

Wakeel Allah, an insider and scholar within the Five Percenters, has written the most thorough and comprehensive treatment of this story of Clarence 13X Smith (a.k.a. Allah, a.k.a. The Father) and the origin of the Five Percenters.

At a total of 438 pages and with 432 reference notes, the book may appear somewhat intimidating, but it can be read and enjoyed no matter what level of previous knowledge exists in the reader's mind regarding the subject.

It is important to understand that like most movements that have become national, and even global in their impact and reach, the Five Percenters are not necessarily monolithic in their views and belief systems, or in total agreement regarding what the group is or represents.

The author delves deeply into the intricacies and subtle variances of the different schools of thought without being disrespectful to any, through forthright and effective dissection of the ideological differences that exist within the group.

Sudan President Bashir answers questions via live satellite for the press and Black America

DETROIT (FinalCall.com) - The United States and the United Kingdom are themselves causing, and then exaggerating, a “crisis” in the African “Motherland’s” largest and possibly wealthiest country—the Sudan—and it’s now called “Darfur,” the country’s president said directly in a live-interactive satellite video conference February 23 with members of the Nation of Islam and reporters attending the Saviours’ Day 2007 conference at Cobo Conference Center.

The U.S. and British news media have consistently exaggerated the death toll in Darfur, just as the U.S. has consistently changed its definition of what Sudan must do, in order to gain Western approval of its peace efforts, according to Pres. Omar al-Bashir.

“There is a problem, and the main cause of that problem is the rebellion,” said Pres. Bashir during the un-rehearsed, and un-censored conversation, which was also broadcast live on Sudanese state-run television. “We’ve done everything possible to try to convince those who bore arms against the state and the people, but all efforts and mediation failed,” he said.

Western, so-called “experts” say an estimated 200,000 to even 400,000 people have been killed and 2.5 million driven from their homes in Darfur since 2003. The true number is closer to 9,000, stated Pres. Bashir.

Pres. Bashir acknowledged that his country is facing a “problem” in Darfur, but he blamed rebel groups that did not sign on to a peace agreement concluded in Abuja, Nigeria in May 2006. Those groups became the focus of media attention, as well as the recipients of aid and arms from outside of the country, he said.

And to those of you who prayed for my recovery, words are not adequate to express my deep, deep sense of personal gratitude.

“Each of you can go back to your mosques, your churches, your cathedrals, your synagogues, your temples, your cloisters—wherever it is that you worship God—and say to your congregation, that our God, by whatever name you call Him, answers prayer.

“Many, many Christians of many different denominations prayed for me. Many pastors put their churches on fasts and prayers for my recovery. There were Hebrew Israelites all over America, Africa and in Israel that prayed for me.

“There were Rabbis and Jewish people that prayed for me to recover. There were Muslims all over the world who prayed for me. There were Buddhists who chanted, and there were those who would do yoga in their chants and in their meditations that prayed for me. There were Hindus who prayed for me. There were Blacks, Whites, Asians, Hispanics and Native Americans who prayed for me.

“How then, could I come through this illness and this horrific operation and not thank God for a message that would be universal in its scope, and universal in its power, to heal the human condition?

The convention kicks off on Wednesday February 21, 2007 with an historic exhibit at the Charles H. Wright Museum. MOSQUE MARYAM (FinalCall.com) - On the morning of Sunday, January 28, 2007, the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan was released from a five-week hospital stay following a major surgical procedure. As this great news was delivered via a national webcast from Nation of Islam Headquarters in Chicago, Ill., Nation of Islam Believers and well-wishers for Min. Farrakhan’s speedy recovery responded with shouts of “Allahu Akbar” (God is the Greatest) and numerous other expressions of joy.

“He was in the hospital for five weeks,” explained Min. Ishmael, national assistant to Min. Farrakhan, who moderated the webcast. “I’m happy to announce to the Nation of the Islam and all of the wonderful people who prayed for him that he was released and is out of the hospital, and at home,” he shared.

In addition to the care from his doctors, Min. Farrakhan was under the constant and continued care from his daughter and nurse, Fatima Farrakhan Muhammad, who had been by her father’s side the entire time.

“The Minister wants to thank all those who prayed for his recovery and healing. Let us continue to keep the Minister in our prayers for his complete recovery,” Sis. Fatima told The Final Call.

“His focus is Saviours’ Day. With the help of Allah, he hopes to see all of those whom Allah has blessed him to touch through his ministry in Detroit at Saviours’ Day 2007,” she said.

Prayers continue for Minister Farrakhan's full recovery

CHICAGO (FinalCall.com) - All across the world family, friends and well-wishers of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan, continued their prayers for his health and recovery after his January 5th surgery. “The doctors were pleased with the outcome of the operation,” reported Minister Ishmael Muhammad, National Assistant Minister to the Honorable Minister Farrakhan.

The Minister’s condition is stable and he is conscious,” said Min. Ishmael on a web cast to the Nation of Islam, Sunday afternoon, January 7th. “We have so much to thank Allah for.”

Minister Farrakhan underwent a major and serious 12-hour abdominal operation, to help correct the severe damage caused by the radiated seed implantation procedure he received to treat his prostate cancer.

“During the 10-day period following surgery, he will be monitored closely for any complications. While we are grateful to Allah and relieved that the operation is over, he is still not out of the woods and in the clear.”

“The doctors are guardedly optimistic about a full recovery that would significantly reduce or completely remove the constant pain that the Minister has experienced over the past several months and literally years,” Min. Ishmael went on to say.

Considering what the Minister just went through, he looks very, very well. The recovery for Minister Farrakhan will take several weeks, but he is expected to be in Detroit for the Nation of Islam’s 2007 Saviours’ Day convention, February 25th, God willing, where he will deliver the keynote address entitled, “One Nation Under God” at the Ford Field Stadium.

“Before he went into surgery, the Minister said he set his face resolutely on Detroit,” explained Min. Ishmael.

All of this was good news to the countless numbers of people from coast to coast and around the world, who expressed prayers and well- wishes for the Minister’s speedy recovery.

Prior to the Minister’s surgery, the believing community of the Nation of Islam went on a nationwide fast and prayer vigil asking Allah to bless the Minister for a complete recovery.

During the webcast, Minister Ishmael spoke on the great sacrifice of Fatima Muhammad, the Minister’s daughter who continues to be his nurse 24/7.

“We are extremely grateful to the doctors and the medical staff and to Sis. Fatima for her loving care as a daughter and her nurse’s training that she’s providing for her father since his illness. She’s been right by his side day and night.”

On behalf of the Nation of Islam, he also thanked Minister Farrakhan’s wife, Mother Khadijah Farrakhan, for her sacrifice. Minister Ishmael said that the Nation was blessed to have her abundance of strength that allows her to stick with the Minister every step of the way.

The many thanks included his children that have dropped everything in their lives to be with their father. The Nation is also thankful to the Minister’s security team, as well as the cooks who have worked tirelessly at their jobs.

Imam Warith Deen Mohammed called to say that he is praying for the Minister’s recovery and sends his love and special greetings to Sister Farrakhan and the family.

Imam Siraj Wahaj of Masjid Al-Taqwa, called while Minister Farrakhan was in surgery to say that he’s offering his prayers and his community will be praying for the success of Minister Farrakhan’s operation.

Dr. Abdul Alim Shabazz, distinguished professor of mathematics and Islamic scholar, offered special prayers for the full and speedy recovery of Minister Farrakhan.

Dr. Kaukab Siddique, of New Trend Magazine, the largest Islamic website in America, has posted on their website to ask for prayers for Minister Farrakhan. “May Allah continue to bless Minister Farrakhan in this world and grant him the hereafter.”

Dr. Imam Muhammad Kader, “May Allah bless Minister Farrakhan with a clear recovery. America and the world needs the leadership of Minister Louis Farrakhan.”

Grand Imam of Africa, Sheikh Hassan Cissé, based in Senegal, sends his special prayers for Minister Farrakhan for a speedy recovery from the Muslims throughout West Africa. He further went on to say, “May Allah bless him with a quick recovery so that Minister Farrakhan can continue to fight and speak for the downtrodded and oppressed and Muslims all over the world.”

Sheikh Mohammed Salis Shaban, then conducted special prayers on Friday Jan. 5th for Min. Farrakhan’s successful surgery. They asked Allah to spare his life and strengthen his health so that he could continue to champion the cause of Muslims and Islam worldwide, and to bless him to bring about the unity of Muslims in cooperation with the human family so that we can live in peace.

The Islamic Society of North America under the leadership of Dr. Ingrid Matteson, offered her special prayers for his quick recovery and sends good will through Dr. Sanusi Mohammed. Dr. Mohammed also added that the Muslim world today is very much in need of the voice and contribution of Minister Farrakhan.

From Morrocco, special prayers were offered for Minister Farrakhan’s health by Dr. Sidi Ahmed Kostas, along with Dr. Ahmed Addadi of the Ministry of Religion and Endowment Affairs of Morrocco.

Sheik Ahmed Ben-Omar Tijani offered prayers and called his many contacts in the Muslim world to inform them that Minister Farrakhan was about to have surgery and asked them to pray with him for a successful conclusion of this surgery.
